Florida Center For Allergy & Asthma Research specializes in conducting clinical trials for the indications of pediatric and adult allergy and asthma. Specific additional interests are in sinusitis, urticaria, asthma in pregnancy and venom allergy. Our research centers are attached to our Kendall and Aventura clinical offices.
The research team is comprised of three investigators, four sub-investigators, four study coordinators and numerous support staff. The entire staff is well trained and highly qualified to handle the most complex and challenging clinical trials.
Some of the Sponsors we have worked with include: GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZenaca , Scherring-Plough, Merck, Sanofi Aventis, Sepracor and others. We have also worked with all major CRO’s such as Quintiles , Covance, , PPD , RPS, Parexel, Clinsys, etc.
Facility Description
Florida Center For Allergy & Asthma Research has two locations. Both of them are considered state of the art research facilities. Both Centers perform Phase II, III and IV clinical trials.
The centers have all of the emergency equipment needed for adverse events and are located in the proximity of Baptist Hospital and Aventura Hospital.
We provide ample space for monitors to work comfortably with phone, fax, DSL and copy machines readily available. The centers are conveniently located in densely populated areas with easy access to the main expressways and airports.
Investigator Experience
Michael P. Pacin, M.D. received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine and completed his fellowship in allergy and immunology at the University of California Irvine. Dr. Pacin has been a principal investigator in a multitude of clinical research trials over the past thirty years. Most notably, he has been involved in the development of the antihistamine Tavist and several asthma medications such as Accolate, Xolair, and Zileuton. Dr. Pacin is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Allergy & Immunology.
Jaime Landman, M.D. has been with Florida Center For Allergy & Asthma Care since 1994 and has been an investigator in many of our clinical research studies. Dr. Landman is Board Certified in both Pediatrics and Allergy & Immunology. He is a member of both the American College of Allergy and Immunology and the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology. He received his M.D. from the University of Peru and completed his fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
Zevy Landman, M.D. has been with Florida Center For Allergy & Asthma Care since 1997. Dr. Landman is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Allergy/Immunology. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology and is a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Florida Allergy Asthma & Immunology Society. He is fluent both in English and in Spanish.
Ileana Rodicio, M.D. has been with Florida Center For Allergy & Asthma Care since 2003 and has participated in our clinical trials both as an investigator and a sub-investigator. She received her medical degree from the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences in Havana, Cuba and completed her fellowship in allergy and immunology at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Rodicio is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Allergy and Immunology.
Patient Demographics
We are located in a highly diverse urban area of more than two million people. We have developed an extensive patient data base due to our reputation and longevity in the community. Our patient population is composed of 40% pediatrics and 60% adults and is ethnically very diverse.
